Economic and social disparities in Chicago are widely acknowledged. We are a city divided. During stage 1 of the pandemic “Shelter in Place” order, I created a project to spotlight our common humanity by sharing quarantine stories from disparate neighborhoods. I found my subjects through Craigslist and Instagram. My shooting approach is intentionally uniform to emphasize the universal, relatable truths found in all the narratives. My hope was to find connection through the shared experience of isolation.
